Greenfort receives PMN Management Award 2017 for Personnel Marketing
On 21 September 2017, the winners of the PMN Management Awards 2017 were honoured in the 9th PMN Award Gala which took place at the renowned Villa Kennedy in Frankfurt. 120 guests were present at the event, including partners in management functions, leaders of the management and business services of law firms as well as representatives of the press, partners and sponsors.
The PMN Management Award is awarded for innovative projects in the areas of management and business services of corporate law firms and financial auditor firms. The firms could submit their applications in various categories. The jury consists of five experienced industry experts.
Greenfort received the PMN Management Award in the category Personnel Marketing for its recruiting tool "Score points at Greenfort".
Two Gold Awards for Greenfort Brand
Greenfort celebrated two awards - in the categories "Brand Strategy" and "Corporate & Financial Services" - which were conferred at the festive German Brand Award 2016 gala in Berlin. With the "Best of Best" award, the jury honored the excellent brand work as well as the confident brand appearance, which succeeded against high-profile competitors. The premium award is conferred annually by the foundations German Brand Institute and German Design Council and is internationally regarded as an unrivaled honor for brands and brand makers.
Success in Exemplary Litigation before the Federal Labor Court
"Works agreement on jubilee benefits with compensatory purpose does not violate the Equal Treatment Principle"
Greenfort won three exemplary litigation proceedings before the German Federal Labor Court as counsel of the printing house of the publishing company C.H. Beck (docket nos. 10 AZR 610/15, 10 AZR 631/15, 10 AZR 9/16): On September 20, 2017, the Federal Labor Court decided that the works agreement regarding jubilee benefits on the occasion of the 250th company anniversary does not infringe the Equal Treatment Principle under § 75 (1) of the German Works Constitution Act. The works agreement provided for higher benefits for those employees who had given up on remuneration components in the last few years. Like the lower courts, the Federal Labor Court rejected the complaints of employees who claimed higher jubilee benefits although they had not given up their better employment conditions. Mark Lembke represented the company in the litigation on all three court levels.

In "Germany's Best Lawyers 2017" (published by the newspaper Handelsblatt in cooperation with Best Lawyers), Greenfort lawyers Dr. Carsten Angersbach and Andreas von Oppen were listed in the fields of M & A / Corporate / Capital Markets. In addition, Prof. Dr. Mark Lembke, Dr. Jens-Wilhelm Oberwinter and Daniela Hangarter were listed in the field of Labor and Employment Law. The nomination is based on the "peer review" principle. This means that lawyers from commercial law firms are asked which colleagues they would recommend outside of their own team if they themselves could not counsel or represent a client due to lack of time or because of a conflict of interests.

In Chambers Europe Guide 2017 Greenfort was again ranked as one of the top law firms in Germany. In the field of "Corporate / M & A - Mid Market (Germany)" Greenfort was ranked in Band 2 and was praised by clients for " the unique combination of efficiency and experience the team demonstrates." Andreas von Oppen was particularly noted for his "skills and fine character". In the section "Employment (Germany)" Greenfort was ranked in Band 5. Greenfort advises Dutch company PANDRIKS Holding B. V. in acquisition of „gutes gut gebacken GmbH” from W-E-G Stiftung + Co. KG, Fulda
With effect as of 1 November 2016, the Dutch company Pandriks Holding BV acquired gutes gut gebacken GmbH (GGG) from W-E-G Stiftung + Co. KG as well as the associated independent Sauer Mill. The industrial bakery GGG is located in Fulda, the Sauer Mill in Bamberg.

Greenfort advises Swedish company Elanders AB (publ) in acquisition of LGI Group
Greenfort advised Elanders AB (publ), a Swedish listed company, in the acquisition of LGI Logistics Group International GmbH. The transaction is conditional on receiving the necessary approvals by the competition authorities. LGI Logistics Group International GmbH offers logistics and services and currently employs approximately 4,000 employees in more than 45 locations in Europe, the USA and Russia. In 2015, LGI Group achieved net sales of around 430 million Euros. Greenfort advises ZCMC in Award Winning Financing Deal
In a climate of declining metal prices in 2015, Zangezur Copper Molybdenum Combine (ZCMC), the Armenian subsidiary of CRONIMET Mining AG, closed a USD 180m senior secured pre-export finance facility (PXF) that was all the more remarkable for its five-year term. ZCMC is Armenia’s largest mining company, producing copper and molybdenum concentrate. Financing lenders include, among others, UniCredit and Caterpillar Financial, both as mandated lead arrangers.
This finance transaction has been recognized as the Deal of the Year (Europe) as part of the Trade Finance Awards 2016.
Fight about Balda – Greenfort advises in JUVE Deal of the Month
The bidding war on Balda group, whose fate was decided in the extraordinary shareholders' meeting on 29 January 2016, was JUVE's "Deal of the Month" in February 2016. Greenfort lawyer Andreas von Oppen advises Balda in corporate law matter and also supported the company during the shareholders' meeting.

IT company IBM has acquired Iris Analytics. Iris Analytics is a specialist in the area of financial security and was advised by Greenfort lawyers Dr. Daniel Röder (Corporate/M&A), Dr. Tim Sperling (IP/IT) and Tobias Glienke (Corporate/M&A). Daniel Röder and Tim Sperling have been advising the company since its foundation in 2007.

In “The Legal 500”, 2016, Greenfort was again categorized in the highest segment under the heading of regional law firms - business law / Frankfurt. In the Germany-wide section, Greenfort is ranked in the categories of corporate law and M&A, employment law, and dispute resolution/disputes under commercial law. In the category corporate law and M&A, the new edition of "The Legal 500" does not only recommend Greenfort – as in previous years – for corporate law, but also for M&A: international medium-sized deals (-€ 500m). Landmark Decision of Federal Labor Court re. Supervisory Board Elections
"Temporary Agency Workers vote and count at the Lessee's Establishment"
Greenfort reached a landmark decision before the Federal Labor Court for Goodyear Dunlop Tires Germany GmbH: After 14 employees had filed for an injunction back in 2011 and stopped the supervisory board elections in order to enforce elections by direct vote of the employees, on 4 November 2015, the Federal Labor Court now dismissed their case in the last instance and overturned the former injunction. The Federal Labor Court held that the Main Election Committee had correctly decided to conduct the supervisory board elections by way of employee delegates' vote rather than direct vote. The relevant threshold under § 9 (1) of the Co-Determination Act had been exceeded because the temporary agency workers who had the right to vote and were employed on regular workplaces had to count towards the threshold so that the total number of regular employees in the German Goodyear Dunlop group had been more than 8,000. Prof. Dr. Mark Lembke represented the involved companies before the Federal Labor Court.

Young lawyers are happy here. According to the ranking in Azur magazine, Greenfort belongs to the 100 top employers in Germany. In the category "staff happiness", Greenfort achieved 89 out of 100 points and thus was ranked on 29th place in the so-called insider ranking of all employers for lawyers.
